Alpaca wool in the Incas was called the wool of the gods and considered a symbol of luxury. Today it competes with cashmere in quality and price. It is characterized by extraordinary lightness, delicacy and durability. This wool does not absorb moisture, mites and a negligible amount of lanolin makes it suitable for allergy sufferers. Because alpacas come in more than 20 colours and a second as many shades, this allows you to escape from artificial dyes. What is important in alpaca wool clothes we can walk all year round, because in summer it is not hot and in winter it is not cold. Depending on the body lot, the alpaca has a different thickness of wool. The thickest - from the legs, abdomen, front of the chest - is used for the production of duvets, pillows, insoles for shoes or felt. The best and most delicate wool from the back and sides called a veil is used to spin yarn, knitwear or materials from which we later make hats, scarves, socks, gloves and more. An interesting fact is that alpaca wool has a high content of keratin, which is why more and more often we can meet soap with alpaca wool content. On the other hand, the long wool of Suri alpaca is used as hair for dolls.
